Beth Elliott is currently running a project with Northumberland Archives, which focuses on providing access to their large collection of manorial documents. This talk will introduce you to the historic manorial system, explaining who could live in a manor, and what rules and customs the tenants were required to followed. Using examples from local manorial records, the talk will build a picture of life in a Northumbrian manor and explain how you can use Northumberland Archives' new manorial resources to further your own local or family history research.
